New Babolat Veron 2023 rackets

What type of players were they designed for?

In 2021, Babolat radically changed its padel rackets, grouping them into new ranges and collections with the aim of creating weapons for all skill levels and playing styles. With that goal, the Viper range (for professionals), Veron (for intermediate and advanced players), and Vertuo (for beginners) were born. On this occasion, we will focus on the three models of the Veron range. These rackets are perfect for frequent players, who play more than 2 or 3 matches a week, and who already have an intermediate or advanced level. We could say that it's the closest thing to professional, for those who aim to continue progressing and improving their game. Regarding playing style, the rackets share the same essence: they were created for attacking players. However, each of them has a different attacking profile, which we will analyze next.

Three different versions: Technical, Air, and Counter

Babolat Technical Veron

This racket is perfect for technical attackers who want to hit with more power and use their hitting technique to direct the ball. Its qualities are dynamic power and precision at the same time. This racket has a diamond shape and a high balance, meaning the head is heavier.

Babolat Air Veron

The new Babolat Air Veron has been designed for aerial attackers. It is chosen by players who enjoy an aerodynamic racket, perfect for going to the net and using their arm speed to generate more power. This racket offers a good balance between power and maneuverability. It features a hybrid shape and an even balance, which allows it to be more agile.

Babolat Counter Veron

The Babolat Counter Veron is a racket for the counter-attack. Its qualities allow the player to become a defensive wall and manage the game with strategy, waiting for the perfect ball to finish the point with force. The main qualities of the Counter Veron are the tolerance of its materials and dynamic power. This racket also has a hybrid shape, but with a more round form, to have a wider sweet spot and enhance control.

Carbon Flex for its manufacturing

Leaving aside the shape and balance of the rackets, the construction materials are the same for all three versions, as they belong to the same Vertuo range. Unlike the Viper rackets, which have a 100% carbon construction on the faces, the three rackets in the Babolat Veron 2023 range feature a material called Carbon Flex. This is a combination of carbon with another more elastic and less dense material, with the aim of reducing the hardness of carbon. This allows for rackets with a greater hitting feel and ball rebound without the need to apply much arm strength. Although, of course, there is also a slight reduction in power compared to the Viper rackets.

Core and Technologies

Inside, the rackets feature a classic Eva rubber. This rubber has a low density for comfortable hitting, to absorb vibrations, and to give the ball more rebound. Additionally, the rackets incorporate a technology called Vibrabsorb System, which reduces the vibrations generated with each impact, preventing the development of elbow discomfort. Finally, both the Air Veron, the Technical Veron, and the Counter Veron feature 3D Spin technology. This is a rough finish on the outermost face of the planes, designed to improve spin shots. This feature is very convenient for players who often make cut and topspin shots.
