Djokovic enjoys padel with Juan Martín Díaz
How does Djokovic play padel?
Novak Djokovic did not hesitate to swap his tennis racket for a padel racket for a while to make his debut in padel alongside Juan Martín Díaz.
The world number 1 tennis player hit some relaxed shots for a few hours, taking advantage of the fact that the World Padel Tour organization has installed a court at the Caja Mágica, the venue where the Madrid Mutua Open Madrid is being held these days.
Alongside former padel number 1, Juan Martín Díaz, Djokovic had an enjoyable time on the court, much to the delight of the fans who gathered at the Caja Mágica. The pair faced Djokovic's brother and former Spanish tennis player Pato Clavet.
Interestingly, Djokovic – a Head player in tennis – wielded a Star Vie brand padel racket. Specifically, the Serb played with the Star Vie R9.1 DRS Carbon Basalto 2016, the Spanish brand's top padel racket.
Undoubtedly, the news has had a great media impact for padel, a sport that, as we all know, is in full international expansion thanks to the World Padel Tour, and which has now been holding an official event for two years in Monte Carlo, where Nole himself resides.
"A true pleasure to have shared a few minutes on court with Djokovic. Number 1 and a down-to-earth guy," Juan Martín Díaz wrote on his Twitter account.
