ABANCA A CORUÑA OPEN WPT 2016 FINAL

"Spectacular". "A match to remember". These are some of the descriptions of the Abanca A Coruña Open 2016 final from its protagonists. And for good reason. Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima were crowned champions of a World Padel Tour tournament once again, but they faced two titans.

Sanyo Gutiérrez and Paquito Navarro proved to be on par with the number 1 pair and almost won a final that lasted over 3 hours. They lost in three sets after taking the first (6-7, 6-4 and 6-3). But even so, they earned the recognition of the Galician public who gathered at the Coliseum.

"They were the clear winners, they had us in their game. They dominated the rhythm of the match and were the winners of the match. They walked all over us in attitude," Bela explained right after the final. "But luckily, we were able to make a break in the second set and hold on to the court. There's no doubt that these triumphs are enjoyed immensely," added the number 1.

Thus, Bela and Lima added their ninth title of the current season in the Abanca A Coruña Open final. A well-deserved triumph considering the level at which both Sanyo and Paquito, chosen best player of the final, played.
