The best brands continue to present new products for padel players. One of the most recent launches, and one that has managed to make a splash, is that of the Siux Astra 2020 padel rackets. This is a trio of rackets that contains a weapon for every playing style. This collection replaces last season's Astra series. What are the differences?

Differences between Siux Astra and Siux Astra Carbon

The biggest advantage of the new Astra Carbon is that the collection consists of three rackets, and each is adapted to a specific style. This allows all players to use them. The essence of these rackets remains the same, it has not changed in this aspect. However, they have undergone structural changes that have undoubtedly been made to improve their performance. Here are the differences and similarities between the Astra and the Astra Carbon.

New EVA rubber core

This is one of the qualities that has changed the most. Siux Astra rackets feature an Ultra Soft EVA rubber core for all three versions. The Astra Carbon now features a laminated Eva Ultra Soft High Recovery rubber core. This modification was made to improve ball striking. This rubber is much more reactive, its fast recovery allows to increase the ball performance as well as the power in the shots. In addition, this rubber is an excellent vibration dampener.

Reinforced frame

To further strengthen the structure, all three Siux Astra Carbon rackets feature a 100% carbon double tubular frame. These characteristics establish the solidity of the racket's structure and its high quality. The double carbon tubular frame guarantees, first of all, greater resistance to wear and a longer lifespan. In addition, it improves the racket's response level, which increases power in shots.

Faces with a new carbon fiber

The impact surface has also been renovated to improve shot quality. On the 2019 version of the Astra, we had seen 24K fiber on the hitting zones. This fiber gave excellent results and was well accepted, but Siux has replaced it with a double layer of 3K carbon fiber. The main objective of a double layer of fiber in the faces is to increase resistance. In this way, the hitting zones manage to be more durable despite the strong impacts of the ball. The added advantage of this component is an increase in power in shots.

Features that remain in the Siux Astra Carbon

We have already mentioned the three changes implemented in the new Siux Astra Carbon. But it is important to note that some of their characteristics have remained the same. Firstly, each of the rackets maintains its format, balance, and the playing style for which it was designed. The Siux Astra Carbon CTRL has a round format, a low balance, and is the racket for the player who prefers a more precise and maneuverable game. The Siux Astra Carbon ATTK is still the power racket in the series. With a diamond format and a high balance. This racket is for offensive hitting players. Finally, the Siux Astra Carbon Hybrid remains the versatile racket in the series. Its teardrop format and medium balance allow for a game with a good balance between control and power. One of the favorite technologies of the Siux Astra, is presented again in the Siux Astra Carbon, we are talking about the Anti Vibration System. This is a more rigid construction in the bridge area, with the aim of optimizing balance and reducing vibrations to avoid elbow problems such as epicondylitis. Regarding the designs, they present some variations, but maintaining the color that identifies each of them. Green for the Hybrid, red for the CTRL and yellow for the ATTK. The smooth and shiny finish is repeated to continue giving the rackets a striking and brilliant appearance.
