The breakout padel duos of 2023

Las parejas de pádel revelación del 2023
Another year, the World Padel Tour circuit starts again, but this time with a reformed ranking of pairs. After the triumph of certain pairs last year, various changes have occurred at the end of the season. In the first matches and tournaments played, we know the good feelings about certain duos on the circuit. Discover the revelation padel pairs of 2023. We cannot forget the good results obtained last season by pairs such as Lebron - Galán, Tapia - Sanyo, or Belateguín and Coello. The first two even fought for the number one spot until the last tournaments of the year. Tapia and Sanyo, being one of them, decided to go their separate ways after having won 5 titles last year. Belasteguín and Coello also decided to take different paths after a year full of learning, triumphs, and many emotions. Navarro and Di Nenno, after winning 4 titles last season, also decided to go their separate ways at the end of the year. On the other hand, the duo Stupa and Lima, after joining forces after the fifth event, won a World Padel Tour title in France, although they also decided to go their separate ways in 2023.

WHICH 2023 PADEL PAIRS DO YOU PREFER?

THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUTH

With the growth of padel, there is an increasing number of young talents rising from the bottom, eager to give their all on the court. These include players like Agustín Tapia, Arturo Coello, Pablo Cardona, Tino Libak, Leo Augsburguer, among many others. It's normal to see more new and young faces in tournaments, as this sport is experiencing rapid growth. With multiple padel academies, youngsters can quickly improve and bring out the talent within them. It's not surprising that young promises will renew the talent pool in future tournaments.

AGUSTÍN TAPIA AND ARTURO COELLO

After having obtained several titles last season with their partners, Sanyo Gutierrez and Fernando Belasteguín, two players with an impressive career full of experience, decided to end their partnerships to team up. This union of youth and talent allows them to demonstrate everything in every match and tournament. The player from Catamarca and the player from Valladolid are one of the most outstanding partnerships thanks to their enormous potential. They have been, from the beginning, one of the candidate pairs to fight for the number one spot against the current Lebrón and Galán. Agustín Tapia, one of the best players on the professional padel circuit, stands out mainly for his powerful and spin-loaded smashes. With these, he brings the ball back to his side of the court, leaving no option for his opponents. His jump smash is also characteristic, as he propels himself to the highest point (thanks to his Nox AT10 shoes) to hit the ball with maximum precision. Knowing this, what could be better than his partnership with the young padel player Arturo Coello, who, at only 20 years old, has incredible potential, with his powerful shots also being one of his characteristic moves. He also stands out for his unique way of defending in the transition zone of the court: a very uncommon way to see it. Both players have a similar playing style, complementing each other perfectly. This allows them to maintain control of matches in difficult moments thanks to their maturity on the court, securing the title in the Abu Dhabi Master and the La Rioja Padel Open. The latter was a very special title for Agus as it is his mother's city and his country. Without a doubt, they can perfectly fight for the number 1 spot this season and be the revelation padel pair of 2023.

FRANCO STUPACZUK AND MARTÍN DI NENNO, THE ARGENTINE PADEL DUO 2023

After many years, padel fans in Argentina have something to celebrate. Martín Di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk, the "Super Pibes", after their success as a pair in the junior circuit, are joining forces again this season to give their all on the court. It must be acknowledged that they are one of the best padel pairs of 2023. This duo is another of the candidates to fight for the number one spot, seeing the potential of both players. Di Nenno's spectacular defense at the back of the court, with no vibora shot escaping him and no bandeja shot he can't handle, and the control of the game he has from the drive side, complements Stupa very well. Stupa, for his part, is an aggressive backhand player, with his special spin shot to the fence loaded with effect (thanks to his new Siux Electra ST2) that causes a lot of damage to the opponent. He is also a player who stands out for his jump smash, making them a very complete padel pair. Despite not having yet achieved any World Padel Tour titles, they have played in two semifinals. The first was in the Abu Dhabi Master, falling to Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galán after a hard-fought match. The other semifinal was this past weekend against the other candidate pair to fight for the top spot in the ranking: Tapia and Coello, also falling to them despite the good sensations they conveyed in the match. The Super Pibes will soon regain the confidence they have had since childhood. They will give their all this season to win various titles and fight for that ranking position.

TINO LIBAAK AND LEO AUGSBURGUER

The young Argentines, aged 17 and 18, are breaking the rules of the game, demonstrating their potential with their performance in this last La Rioja Open. The duo made padel history by reaching the final as a Wildcard of the tournament. To do so, they had to defeat duos such as Gómez Silingo and Juan Martín Diaz, Paquito Navarro and Juan Tello, Miguel Lamperti and Belluati. Tino and Leo are residents of the Nox Future Academy, a talent development project promoted by the famous padel brand Nox. In this project, both players will be able to develop their professional future in padel thanks to its facilities and training coordinated by the renowned padel coach Pablo Crosseti. This is one of the 2023 padel pairs that have been playing together for several years, so they are quite consolidated and know how to complement each other perfectly. Their main characteristics are Tino's bandeja and vibora shots, along with Leo's aggressiveness with his spectacular hitting from any point of the court. Given the potential of this duo and the results obtained in the disputed World Padel Tour events, a long road full of successes awaits them. Without a doubt, they will be another of the 2023 padel pairs that will generate a lot of buzz. I
