The NOX Full Carbon Series, in detail

NOX - FULL CARBON SERIES

NOX was one of the first brands to present its 2017 padel racket collection. Among all its new products, the Full Carbon Series stands out, consisting of three top-level models. These are ML10 Full Carbon EVA, ML10 Full Carbon Foam and Stupa Full Carbon Hybrid. Today we want to focus on these three rackets to analyze them in detail and explain what they can offer to padel players. Will you join us?

Before going into detail, we highlight the general characteristics of this series. The frames of NOX Full Carbon rackets are made 100% of carbon, something that until now the Spanish firm had not included in any of its previous models.

In addition, with their DCS (Dynamic Construction System) technology, they incorporate different layers of carbon from the frame to the sweet spot of the racket to provide a homogeneous feel. Not to mention its closed bridge, which provides greater strength to the structure of the racket and a balance closer to the handle, making the rackets more agile and comfortable during play. A definite plus.

Now, let's look in detail at the three models that NOX presents within this series.

ML10 FULL CARBON EVA

The first thing to say is that the main difference between these models is the rubbers used. In the case of the NOX ML10 Full Carbon EVA padel racket, it features a very high-density EVA rubber. And what does this rubber provide? Mainly a drier feel but greater power.

It has a round shape and a wide sweet spot to give us extra control. Even so, we can categorize it as a power racket due to the aforementioned EVA rubber. Ideal for offensive players, more common in the backhand. In addition, it will provide greater durability than the other Full Carbon rackets precisely because of the EVA rubber.

ML10 FULL CARBON FOAM

The second racket in this series features a Foam rubber. What differences do we find in this rubber compared to EVA? Mainly, it is a more comfortable rubber. More and more, brands are opting for this type of rubber because it is the best for reducing epicondylitis problems.

The ML10 Full Carbon Foam has a low-density polyethylene rubber, which gives us a greater ball feel. That is, more control at the cost of losing a point of the power that the previous model has. A more balanced racket that, however, will have a slightly shorter lifespan.

STUPA FULL CARBON HYBRID

Finally, as a third option within this series, we have the Stupa Full Carbon Hybrid. It is the racket of Franco Stupaczuk, Cristian Gutiérrez's new partner on the World Padel Tour. And it could be said that it is one of the great novelties among the NOX 2017 padel rackets.

It has a core composed of 2 layers of high-density EVA and an intermediate layer of low-density polyethylene. This ensures that with slow balls only the polyethylene layer acts, providing a lot of control and a high ball feel. On the other hand, when we want to hit with more power and speed, the EVA rubber will help us with this purpose.

CONCLUSION

The mold used in the three NOX Full Carbon rackets is rather round. The sweet spot is located right in the middle of the racket, so if we center the impact, the ball will always come out as we expect.

Finally, we will say that the largest sweet spot is found in the Full Carbon FOAM. In the EVA model, it is reduced because it is a harder racket and forces us to have more precise ball reading. In the Hybrid, we have an intermediate-sized sweet spot.
