Trading places: Concepción-Ramos and Botello-Blanco, new pairings

The conclusion of the Lisbon Challenger has brought significant changes to two of the regular main draw pairings of the World Padel Tour. Javier Concepción and Uri Botello, on one hand, and Adrián Blanco and Diego Ramos, on the other, have decided to end their on-court partnership, leading to a swap of partners between the four.

Adrián Blanco breaks the news

It was Adrián Blanco himself, a Wingpadel player, who confirmed the news via social media: "Many already know, but now we confirm... Diego and I will no longer play together on the WPT Circuit. After more than 3 years, we are going our separate ways. I gained a very good friend and a great partner. I hope we both do very well, except when we play against each other, hehehe. My new partner will be Uri Botello, a great player who has already made quite a name for himself. I hope I can help him a lot in our new journey. A new stage, new hopes, new motivations, and new goals await us. Very eager to start at the WPTMallorca!!"

Javier Concepción's statement

  Another of the protagonists of the trade, Javier Concepción (Adidas), also offered his point of view in a press release: "We started playing in 2013, as the last pair in the Main Draw, and we have made great progress, even qualifying as alternates for the WPT Masters Finals in the 2014 season. We have reached two Challenger finals and quarter-finals. We are satisfied with the results we have achieved over all this time. However, as in any professional relationship, and especially when you live together for so long, there is an erosion that has led us to decide to go our separate ways."

Two very stable pairings

Thus, Adrián Blanco (38th WPT) will partner with Uri Botello (26th WPT) from the Palma de Mallorca Open, while Uruguayan Diego Ramos (38th WPT) will partner with Javier Concepción (26th WPT). A significant change considering that both pairings had many matches under their belts. Blanco-Ramos had been playing together for three years, while Concepción-Botello had been doing so since late 2013. From Street Padel, we wish all four players the best of luck in their new endeavors.
