6 tips for success in a padel match
How to succeed in a padel match?
When we play sports in pairs, as is the case with padel, we carry a significant emotional load because we feel responsible for not letting our partner down, and we fight to unexpected lengths to taste victory, without resistance from our opponents. Below, we will give you a series of tips that will work in your favor as players.
1st Hydrate and get eight hours of rest. It is essential that your brain and your body are well hydrated, and of course, rested. It is advisable to hydrate with isotonic drinks and low-sodium water to reduce the number of toxins that would later be expelled through sweat. Do not consume heavy meals, alcohol, tobacco, spicy foods, fried foods, or fats. Eat fruits, vegetables, carbohydrates, and proteins.
2nd Combine a day of physical preparation, especially controlling your lung capacity and toning your legs and arms. Increase the sets gradually; don't obsess and stress yourself, as that will interrupt the goals you want to achieve. Poor training or abrupt exercises will increase the risk of injury, muscle soreness, or general discomfort.
3rd Talk to your partner, maintain good coordination, and a good atmosphere. Find the moment to get to know each other and build mutual trust, as the quality of security on the court will be noticeable, which will exude intimidation and insecurity to the other opponents.
4th Choose appropriate footwear and clothing made of technical fabrics such as dry-fit, absorbent materials that allow freedom of movement. Remember that shoes are an essential element; they control your coordination, so select good soles that provide comfort and good cushioning and remember not to fit them too tightly; use one size to half a size larger for them to be correct. If you play in sunny hours, protect your head with a cap, preferably a light color, to avoid direct contact with sunlight. Also use sun protection to prevent skin lesions.
5th Breathe and talk to your inner self; it won't be good for you or your partner to get distracted by making faces, sounds, etc. Try again and bring out the best in yourself by showing maturity; thus, integrity and self-confidence will make you react much better, stronger, and more positively, carrying out all the efforts generated during preparation. If, on the contrary, you win a game, congratulate your partner and celebrate the victory together; don't get too excited, as this will activate your nervous system and increase your levels of distraction, which would somehow unbalance the good rhythm of your match.
6th The racket is an essential element; it should have the right feel, and very importantly, the weight must be correct so that the balance of your racket is optimal and does not strain your shoulder, arm, or wrist. This will allow you to perfectly develop your skills as the professional padel player you are.
